On February 23rd, 2018 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM Corpus Christi FC will host their 2nd and final tryout for its 2019 season at the Butler Soccer Complex in Corpus Christi, TX.

With its announcement as a new franchise by the Premier Developmental League (PDL) in October 2017, the newest sports addition to Corpus Christi, “The Sharks”, has captured the attention of soccer fans across the Coastal Bend. CCFC had an awesome season in its inaugural season.

In preparation for the upcoming 2019 season, The Sharks have announced 2 open tryout dates the first tryout was completed on December 1st, 2018 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM , the second and final tryout will hold on Saturday February 23 ,2019 at Butler Soccer Complex.

The tryouts will consist of speed and agility drills that will end with a scrimmage to assess and evaluate the players talent.


“We have had a great turnout at the tryouts and it’s clear that Corpus Christi has a strong soccer presence,” said Head Coach Sebastian Giraldo. “I am confident we will continue to see a high level of competition at the next set of tryouts and I am excited to see continued community support during the next phase of this process.”

2nd Tryout Date February 23rd, 2019 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM

VENUE: Butler Soccer Complex, 6654 Yorktown Blvd, Corpus Christi, TX 78414. (Opposite Sting soccer field at Bill Witt City Park)

Registration Fee: $40

Male players who will be 16 years (by June 1, 2019) or older are qualified to participate. There is no upper age limit to participate, A non-refundable $40 fee will be made upon registration online, cost includes 1 training t-shirt that will be worn during tryout.

There will be no on-site registration, all players must register online on our website. A mandatory check-in will take place at open tryouts and registrations must be completed online a day prior to tryout date. Members of the football club will be evaluating the players and providing feedback to the coaches.

More than 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have PDL experience, including a total of 66 alums chosen in 2018. Among the many players to have played in the PDL before making their professional debuts include Newcastle United FC defender DeAndre Yedlin, 2017 MLS Goalkeeper of the Year Tim Melia, 2017 MLS Defender of the Year Ike Opara and U.S. Men’s National Team members such as Darlington Nagbe, Brad Guzan, Geoff Cameron and Tim Ream.
