Corpus Christi FC will host its first tryout for its 2022 season on December 11,2020 at St. JOHN PAUL II HIGH SCHOOL, 3036 SARATOGA BLVD, CORPUS CHRISTI, TX78415
Corpus Christi FC plays in the United Soccer League as part of the USL2, “The Sharks”, have captured the attention of soccer fans across South Texas. CCFC has had 3 successful seasons, coming second in their division in 2021 and making the USL2 national playoffs.
In 2019 the Sharks were the second highest scoring team in the nation and qualified to play in the 2021 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup
In preparation for the upcoming 2022 season, The Sharks are scheduled to have their first tryout on Saturday December 11,2021 from 11:00AM to 3:00PM.
The tryouts will consist of speed and agility drills that will end with a scrimmage to assess and evaluate the players talent.
“We have had great turnout at our previous tryouts and it’s clear that Corpus Christi has a strong soccer presence,” said CCFC President Dr Kingsley Okonkwo. “I am confident we will continue to see a high level of competition at the next set of tryouts.”

Male players who will be 16 years (by June 1, 2022) or older are qualified to participate. There is no upper age limit to participate, A non-refundable $70 fee will be made upon registration online, cost includes 1 training t-shirt that will be worn during tryout and CCFC stickers.

SELECTED PLAYERS WILL BE PROVIDED HOUSING AND MEALS DURING THE SEASON
There will be no on-site registration, all players must register online on our website. A mandatory health check-in will take place at the open tryout venue and registrations must be completed online a day prior to tryout date. In addition to CCFC Coaches, members of the football club will be evaluating the players and providing feedback to the coaches.
More than 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have USL League Two experience, including a total of 66 alumni chosen in 2018. Among the many players to have competed in USL League Two before making their professional debuts include Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, Newcastle United FC defender DeAndre Yedlin, Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Columbus Crew forward Gyasi Zardes.
