Corpus Christi FC (The Sharks) is delighted to announce the appointment of Ignacio Dicun and Manuel Iwabuchi as its coaches for the 2022 season. Mr. Ignacio Dicun will serve as Head Coach and Manuel Iwabuchi will serve as the USL2 clubs Associate Head Coach.
The Sharks compete in the United Soccer League Two (USL2), North America’s premier pre-professional soccer league.
Coach Ignacio Dicun is a proven winner. He has coached at all levels starting with early youth development to the pre-professional levels. He was named the Assistant coach of the CCFC sharks USL2 team in November of 2020 and Corpus Christi FC Academy Director in June 2021.
Prior to joining the Corpus Christi FC organization, he played college soccer at Eastern New Mexico University and was an inaugural player for the CCFC sharks PDL team in 2018.He subsequently started his coaching career locally in the Coastal Bend youth soccer setting.
In 2019 Coach Dicun completed the TOVO Coaching Course at FC Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain to further enhance his coaching knowledge and experience.
Coach Manuel Iwabuchi joins the CCFC-SHARKS from Express Soccer Club where he serves as the Foundation Phase leader and coaching coordinator. He is the IWA HS Boys Soccer Head Coach. He is considered one of the best young coaches in the Coastal Bend Region. He holds the USSF National license.

CCFC has had three impressive seasons, the team placed second in the USL2 Mid-South Division in 2021 and made the national playoffs. The Sharks were the second highest scoring team in the nation in 2019 and continue to garner attention on the national stage. The Sharks have captured the attention of soccer fans across the Coastal Bend.
In preparation for its upcoming 2022 season, The Sharks have announced its open tryout date for February 19, 2022, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM in San Antonio, Texas.

USL League Two is the top pre-professional soccer league in North America, offering a summer platform for aspiring professionals across the United States and Canada. More than 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have League Two experience, including 66 alumni chosen in 2018 and 61 in 2019. Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, Newcastle United’s DeAndre Yedlin, and Atlanta United’s Brad Guzan are among the many U.S. National Team players to have competed in USL League Two.
