Corpus Christi FC (The Sharks) is delighted to announce the re-appointment of Sebastian Giraldo, PhD as head coach for its 2020 season.
The Sharks are the newest sports addition to Corpus Christi, they compete in the United Soccer League Two (USL2), North America’s premier pre-professional soccer league.
Sebastian is known for his leadership and motivational skills at the highest level on and off the field, he also has extensive experience developing both senior and youth talent and has an academic background that is rare in the coaching world. He has been CCFC head coach for the last two seasons and was instrumental in the soccer club’s beautiful playing style on the field and in connecting with the Corpus Christi fans.
“We have been building something very special on and off the field for two years. Last year, we were clearly one of the best teams in the country and felt that we left some unfinished business. We want to continue to provide a professional pathway for top soccer athletes in the Corpus Christi area but we also want to show that you can win and win championships playing extremely attractive futbol with athletes that are creative and allowed to express themselves on the field”. says Sebastian Giraldo, Ph.D.

CCFC has had two impressive seasons, the team was the second highest scoring team in the nation in 2019 and continues to garner attention on the national stage. The Sharks captured the attention of soccer fans across the Coastal Bend.
In preparation for its upcoming 2020 season, The Sharks have announced two open tryout dates for November 30th, 2019 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM and February 29th ,2020 from 12:00PM to 2:00PM at Bill Wilt Soccer Complex.
USL League Two is the top pre-professional soccer league in North America, offering a summer platform for aspiring professionals across the United States and Canada. More than 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have League Two experience, including 66 alumni chosen in 2018 and 61 in 2019. Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, Newcastle United’s DeAndre Yedlin, and Atlanta United’s Brad Guzan are among the many U.S. National Team players to have competed in USL League Two.
