Corpus Christi, TX – On February 23, Corpus Christi Football Club (CCFC) signed Karlo Lopez, 17, for their inaugural 2018 season. Lopez is a student athlete at Veterans Memorial High School, where he plays alongside his brother. Lopez plays under the direction of Jerry Wade.
Lopez is now the youngest player to be signed by the Sharks, however CCFC’s Assistant Coach Sebastian Giraldo made it clear he belongs on the team and will make an immediate impact. Giraldo has expressed Lopez’s years of work and commitment have “led him to have the opportunity to play at the Premiere Development League (PDL) level with top NCAA athletes and professional prospects.” Giraldo explains Lopez needs to experience the game at the next level to continue improving.
Lopez has played up two age groups at the highest level of club soccer and hasplayed for 99B South Texas FC in the US Soccer Southern Regional Premier League who has consistently been ranked #1 or #2 in the state of Texas for several years. He has previously played for IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, where he gained significant experience and had the opportunity to train and play with US Soccer Youth National Teams.
CCFC is a minor league soccer team operating in the PDL. CCFC aspires to bring a high level of soccer to the Coastal Bend community and to develop players on and off the field while molding our youths to become better professionals and well-rounded individuals.
We would like to express our gratitude for all your support and invite you to the official introduction of our third exceptional Corpus Christi player for the upcoming 2018 season. All Soccer fans are invited
