The Early Development Program (EDP)

The EDP is for 1st and 2nd grade boys and girls (6-8) seeking additional professional coaching. Our EDP program is focused on developing an affinity and encourages players to be comfortable, creative, and confident on the Ball. Our coaches follow a specific curriculum provided by our technical department to provide consistency in each of our geographic locations.

Practices: All EDL practices will follow the ‘Play – Practice – Play’ model. This exciting new format has been designed and developed by US Soccer to create a player- centered approach to coaching. The concept of play-practice-play is to allow young players to experience the game and game-like situations as much as possible. Practices will begin with a ‘play’ element, followed by ‘practice’ and then ending with more ‘play.’

Corpus Christi FC Academy has designed a player development plan, which specifies clear topics that coaches will focus on each week at practice. 
The EDP is split into two programs catered to provide families a convenient program focused on player development:

1)The Early Development League (EDL)
The program is focused on player development by providing them the opportunity to express themselves in both practice and a game environment.

 2)The Early Development Center (EDC)
Is focused primarily on the technical side of the game, encouraging our players to be comfortable, creative, and confident on the ball in a practice environment.
