CORPUS CHRISTI FC ANNOUNCES OPEN TRYOUT DATES

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX– March 3, 2021

On March 20, 2021 from 11:00AM to 5:00PM Corpus Christi FC will host its final tryout for its 2021 season in Dallas Texas.

Corpus Christi FC plays in the United Soccer League as part of the USL2, “The Sharks”, have captured the attention of soccer fans across South Texas. CCFC has had multiple successful seasons, coming second in their division in 2019 season and were the second highest scoring team in the nation in 2019.

In preparation for the upcoming 2021 season, The Sharks have announced its final open tryout date scheduled to hold in Dallas Texas on Saturday March 20, 2021 from 11:00PM to 5:00PM.

Registration is now open and will close on March 18, 2021  

The tryouts will consist of speed and agility drills that will end with a scrimmage to assess and evaluate the players talent.

“We have had a great turnout at the tryouts and it’s clear that Corpus Christi has a strong soccer presence,” said Head Adriano Versari. “I am confident we will continue to see a high level of competition at the next set of tryouts and I am excited to see continued community support during the next phase of this process.”

Registration Fee: $70

Male players who will be 16 years (by June 1, 2021) or older are qualified to participate. There is no upper age limit to participate, A non-refundable $70 fee will be made upon registration online, cost includes 1 training t-shirt that will be worn during tryout.

There will be no on-site registration, all players must register online on our website. A mandatory check-in will take place at open tryouts and registrations must be completed online 2 days prior to tryout date. Members of the football club will be evaluating the players and providing feedback to the coaches.

SELECTED PLAYERS WILL BE PROVIDED HOUSING AND FEEDING DURING THE SEASON

More than 70 percent of all MLS SuperDraft selections since 2010 have USL League Two experience, including a total of 66 alumni chosen in 2018. Among the many players to have competed in USL League Two before making their professional debuts include Werder Bremen’s Josh Sargent, Newcastle United FC defender DeAndre Yedlin, Atlanta United goalkeeper Brad Guzan and Columbus Crew forward Gyasi Zardes.
