TAMPA, Fla. – The 2018 United Soccer League (USL) Winter Summit kicked off on December 3th, 2018 in Tampa, Florida.
More than 200 franchise executives and vendors attended meetings on ticket sales and activation, video and streaming production, digital sponsorship best practices, game day activation and much more over the three days duration of the conference. Corpus Christi FC was represented by Club President Dr Kingsley Okonkwo and Head Coach Sabastian Giraldo.
The annual Winter Summit brings together executives from the all clubs within the USL and its partners for an unparalleled opportunity to share knowledge and industry trends. For the first time ever, the USL integrated all breakout seasons to include all franchises within the USL family.
Speaking at the event was USL Chief Executive Officer Alec Papadakis, President Jake Edwards and other guest speakers. Papadakis and Edwards delivered the State of the League address to open proceedings in earnest.
Corpus Christi FC was named one of the 3 Best USL League 2 Franchise in the country and was also finalist for New Franchise of the Year Award
Corpus Christi FC was the only club nominated twice for the 2 highly anticipated USL annual awards.
Corpus Christi FC also won 3 Golden Scarf Awards presented by Ruffneck for the 2018 season, Best Sales Promotion, Best Game Day Promotion and Beast Ticket sales Campaign. CCFC was runner up for Best Static Display AD

Corpus Christi FC will be competing in the USL League 2 next season, its first game of the season will be an exhibition game on April 20th, 2019 at its home venue Dr Dugan Soccer Stadium, TAMUCC. Preparation for next season has started in earnest with an open tryout on December 1, 2018 and a final tryout planned for end for February 2019
USL League Two has seen many talented players further their careers at the highest professional level over the course of the league’s existence, and 2018 was no different. The 2018 MLS SuperDraft saw 66 players selected by Major League Soccer clubs, including 18 in the first round.
